You don't have to be a hipster to participate in this walking tour through one of San Diego's hippest (and oldest) neighborhoods for art, foodie finds and boutique shopping. As one of the oldest communities in the City of San Diego, North Park has no lack of historical tidbits and quirky facts, and has become home to numerous progressive restaurants, owned and operated by long established San Diegans. As you meander along 30th Street, you'll discover how North Park was once a wilting lemon grove and is still home to the oldest "Chinese laundry" in the city. Listen as your guide reveals the history of the Dryden District, shows you the famous North Park sign, and describes how the completion of Highway 80 brought new life to the area. Don't worry about becoming hungry or thirsty during this four-and-a-half-hour outing, either: You'll savor a few sips from one of the area's first craft breweries, enjoy bites of fresh, handmade pretzels, sample artisan cheeses, grab a slice of Chicago-style deep dish pizza, put down a few hot wings, snack on a slider and hang at the most popular wine bar & lounge in town.

You'll also see where Ellen Browning Scripps once lived in the present-day Museum of Contemporary Art, learn how Theodor Geisele (aka Dr. Seuss) made La Jolla his home, hear why the native Americans first called La Jolla "the hole in the mountain" and more interesting facts about one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the nation and one of the most popular attractions in San Diego. Once you've worked up an appetite, you'll get to experience some of the best La Jolla cuisine. From sweet and savory Hawaiian-inspired treats to apple pancakes, fish tacos to Kobe beef sliders, organic superfoods to Biltong jerky, there's something to excite every tastebud. By the end of this four-hour tour, you'll understand why La Jolla is such a California gem.
